Bangkok sees no shortage of a new Sukhumvit hotel opening, but recent openings have been worth noting, as major global hotel brands debut all across the region.
AccorHotels recently announced that they’ll be opening the first Orient Express Hotel in Asia in the Thai capital, inside the King Power MahanakhonBuilding in Bangkok. The design of the property was handled by Designer Tristan Auer, with the task of reinventing the Art Deco and plant-like aesthetics of the very first Orient Express into a modern skyscraper sitting in the middle of a modern metropolis.
The hotel will feature several restaurants, including the Mott 32 on the 2nd level, while the other is Mahanathi by David Thompson, located on the 5th levels.
The property, the Orient Express Mahanakhon Bangkok, will open in the last quarter of 2019. Development of the project is possible thanks to a strategic partnership between AccorHotels and SNCF Group.
Hyatt Regency will be making their entry into the Bangkok market with a Sukhumvit hotel; the Hyatt Regency Bangkok Sukhumvit.
Located near the Nana neighbourhood, the hotel is part of a 31-story, mixed-use development designed by local architecture firm OBA. The hotel will stand alongside a luxury condominium and upscale retail shop, and will sport modern Thai household aesthetics.
The Hyatt Regency Bangkok will feature 273 guestrooms, and 21 suites. On the 28th floor, the Presidential Suite sports 2,249 ft2 of space for guests.
Hilton recently opened the Hilton Da Nang, a 28-story, 223-room hotel, its third hotel brand opening in Thailand following the Hilton Hanoi Opera and Hilton Garden Inn Hanoi.
The 223 guestrooms and suites sport locally inspired aesthetics and grants views of the Han River, while the hotel’s executive floor rooms offer exclusive access to the 27th floor lounge, where guests can come into to enjoy complimentary breakfast and all-day refreshments while enjoying panoramic views of the city.
The hotel offers eight meeting rooms as well as a grand ballroom, which can hold up to 500 guests, with each meeting space coming with the latest equipment in order to ensure that any events held in the space run smoothly.
